NOTE:  The article below is a copy of the one in the archive of the Yosemite Museum, which was obtained by the ordinary means of paying to have it copied, along with other documents.  While researching the author and publication I came across the original  article in the magazine, Out West, the January 1914 issue.  The copy in the archive had been altered for use as a brochure and included a photo of the Best Studio from New Village, which would not exist for another 12 years from the time this article was wrtten.  Parts of the text have been changed and retypeset.
